§ Dr. Summerskillasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether his attention has been drawn to the resolution passed by the conference of local health authorities in Scotland, of which a copy has been sent to him, urging the Government to introduce legislation to provide for the compulsory notification and treatment of venereal disease; and what action he intends to take.
Mr. JohnstonYes, Sir. I have also received a report from my Medical Advisory Committee whom I asked last year to consider certain aspects of the problem of the control and treatment of venereal diseases. That report will shortly be published as a Command Paper. I am not in a position to indicate what consequential steps will be taken.
