§ Mr. Lipsonasked the Minister of Labour if he can now give particulars of the scheme for the demobilisation of doctors at the end of the war in Europe; and will he give an assurance that Service doctors will be given adequate representation on any committees that may be formed to carry it out.
§ Mr. BevinThe scheme outlined in the White Paper on the Reallocation of Manpower between the Armed Forces and Civilian Employment during any interim 1987W period between the defeat of Germany and the defeat of Japan (Cmd. 6548), applies to medical officers in the same way as to other members of the Forces. There is provision in paragraph 12 of the White Paper for the release in Class B, i.e., out of age and service order, of a limited number of individuals on applications made through Government Departments in accordance with the existing arrangements. In the case of medical officers, these arrangements provide for recommendations to be made by the Central Medical War Committee.
