Smithersasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the increase in the fiduciary issue and to prevent hoarding, he will call in all existing notes and make a new issue as the only legal currency after a specified date in order that inquiries may be made into the reason for any large holdings which may be disclosed.
