§ Mr. Sorensenasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether it will be determined that Africans who enter the 556W Tanganyika Civil Service in Grade 3 and are proved to be capable of entering Grade 2 should be paid at the same rate for similar work as that paid to non-Africans.
§ Colonel StanleyThis is already provided in the regulations; moreover, if an African has reached the maximum of Grade 111 before promotion to Grade 11, he receives two immediate increments of salary upon entering the latter grade.
