asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the fact that the pay of Civil Defence workers is based on that of a private in the Armed Forces, married with one child, and that such private received 13s. 6d. increase in basic allowances on 1st May, 1944, he can assure the House that a similar adjustment will be made in the case of Civil Defence personnel.1617W
