Mr. H. Whiteasked the Minister of Labour if he has considered the representations regarding the lack of equipment needed for the training of those directed to the Creswell Training Centre; what action he has taken to give satisfaction to those responsible for giving the instruction; is he aware that there are daily parades in formation up and down the streets by these trainees; and will he take action to stop this exhibition of unwilling entrants to the mining industry.
2197W
§ Mr. E. BevinThere has been some difficulty, owing to shortage of supplies, in providing all equipment required at the Creswell Centre. The standard training equipment supplied to other Centres has, however, now been provided. The only parades of trainees of which I am aware are those connected with physical training instruction. These take place daily, and are under the control of an instructor.
