§ Mr. ButlerThe average number of pupils on the registers of public elementary schools in Rhondda for the week beginning 5th July, 1943, was 19,241 including 1,705 evacuees. As regards higher education, the latest figures available are for 1st October, 1942, when there were 2,538 pupils in secondary schools and 218 pupils in the junior technical school.
