HC Deb 23 September 1943 vol 392 cc414-5W
Mr. Keeling

asked the Minister of Health whether he proposes to take any further action to prevent farm-workers' cottages being taken over by week-enders and other visitors?

Mr. E. Brown

I agree with the view which is implicit in the Question that the retention of cottages in agricultural districts for occasional use only can seldom be justified and I should be prepared in suitable cases to consider proposals by local authorities for the use of requisitioning powers under the Defence Regulations to deal with the problem to which my hon. Friend refers.
