HC Deb 21 October 1943 vol 392 cc1527-8W
Mr. Creech Jones

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been drawn to the disabilities of the colonial service in Kenya; and whether effective steps are being taken for the consideration of the problems raised in communications with the Governor?

Mr. Emrys-Evans

Yes, Sir, my right hon. and gallant Friend has received more than one communication from the local Civil Service association. A committee to examine the present terms and conditions attached to appointments in the Kenya European Civil Service was appointed earlier this year and its report is expected to be available very shortly. The matters raised by the association will then be dealt with in the light of the committee's recommendations.
