HL Deb 13 October 1943 vol 129 c182WA
LORD BARNBY

asked His Majesty's Government whether they can state, the approximate average amount of monthly remittances from Great Britain to Southern Ireland by residents, temporary or permanent, of Southern Ireland nationality in Great Britain.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT SIMON)

Since Eire is in the sterling area, remittances may be made freely and without restriction, and I regret that the information for which the noble Lord asks is, therefore, not available.

House adjourned.
