HC Deb 13 October 1943 vol 392 c915W
Mr. Rhys Davies

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware of the difficulties experienced by the authorities in adequately staffing, especially infectious and contagious diseases hospitals; and whether he will consider taking steps to relieve the situation?

Mr. Bevin

Yes, Sir. On the advice of the National Advisory Council for the recruitment and distribution of nurses and midwives, high priority is being given to this type of institution so far as nursing staff are concerned. As regards other staff, I would ask my hon. Friend to await the statement which I hope to make shortly on this subject generally.
