HC Deb 13 October 1943 vol 392 c907W
Dr. Little

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether, as church heating is a necessity in Northern Ireland from the beginning of October owing to colder weather conditions, he will issue instructions that churches may be heated on the Lord's Day for public worship?

Major Lloyd Georǵe

Central heating of controlled premises, including churches, in Northern Ireland is governed by the Waste of Fuel (Northern Ireland) Order, 1943, made by the Ministry of Commerce, Belfast, and not by any Order or Direction made by the Ministry. If my hon. Friend will approach the Ministry of Commerce, I have no doubt that they will look into the matter.
