HC Deb 12 October 1943 vol 392 c746W
Mr. Henderson Stewart

asked the right hon. and gallant Member for Rye, as representing the Forestry Commissioners, whether the recent increase in agricultural wages, authorised by the Central Wages Board, has been applied to forestry workers in Scotland; and what is the minimum weekly wage now paid to these workers?

Sir G. Courthope

The recent recommendation of the Central Wages Board for an increase in the minimum agricultural rate of wages does not apply to Scotland where the minimum agricultural rate for adult males is 60s. per week which is the minimum rate now paid to Forestry Commission workers in Scotland.
