HC Deb 30 November 1943 vol 395 c226W
Sir T. Moore

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that there are some 13 German-run organisations now established in this country; and whether he is satisfied that their activities are purely in the Allied interest?

Mr. Peake

Yes, Sir. There are a number of small organisations formed by various groups of refugees from Germany for social, cultural and other purposes. Organisations of this kind do not require Government approval and my right hon. Friend has no reason to suppose that at present their activities are prejudicial to the Allied war effort. They will continue, however, to be closely watched.
