asked the Minister of Health whether he is now in a position to state the number of local authorities in the county of Durham that have submitted housing schemes to be proceeded with at the end of the war?

Of the 40 local authorities in Durham 39 have already submitted housing programmes to be proceeded with at the end of the war. I am in communication with the remaining authority.

Thirty-two of the 39 local authorities which have submitted programmes already hold housing sites covering 1,216 acres and propose to purchase a further 370 acres. I have not yet received details from the remaining seven authorities.
