HC Deb 11 November 1943 vol 393 cc1299-300W
Mrs. Cazalet Keir

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he will consider the desirability of extending C.E.M.A. activities outside this country in order that they may serve our Forces and civilians overseas?

Mr. Butler

The activities of C.E.M.A. were originally envisaged as applying to Great Britain alone, and this limitation has hitherto been strictly observed. I will, however, investigate the possibility of their extension overseas in so far as the resources of the Council may permit. My hon. Friend will appreciate that any such extension would involve consultation and co-operation with other Government Departments and with the British Council.
