§ Mr. R. Morganasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the total number of civil servants who were evacuated from London since the beginning of the war, together with the Departments concerned; and how many of the personnel and Departments have now returned to London and the reasons for this step?
§ Mr. AsshetonNearly three-quarters of the Civil Service are now located outside London, but it is not possible to say how many of these were evacuated from London owing to the war-time changes in the Service. As regards returns to London I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given to the hon. and gallant Member for Rochester (Captain Plugge) on 19th October.
