Friend that during the course of the Finance Bill Debates last year I stated that I would gladly consider any scheme for the deduction of tax from wages on a current earnings basis which provided a solution of the difficulties set forth in the White Paper "The Taxation of Weekly Wage-Earners" (Cmd. 6348).
