§ Captain Pluggeasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works how many applicants to date have been authorised to incur repairs to the value of £200; and how many applications have been refused?
§ Mr. HicksI am afraid the figures asked for are not available but if, as I assume, the hon. and gallant Member is referring to the issue of licences for the repair of war-damaged houses which was the subject of my reply to the hon. Member for Moss Side (Mr. Rostron Duckworth) on 12th May, 1943, 1,252 applications up to a value of £200 have been received from that date until the 25th June, 1943. 1,096 were granted and 156 refused. These figures are exclusive of houses repaired by local authorities, for which licences are not required.
