§ Mr. DaltonThese articles were first placed under export control on the 21st August, 1940. They include any painting, drawing or sculpture, irrespective of age, and also any article more than 75 years old, irrespective of artistic, historic or other interest. In the years 1940, 1941 and 1942 my Department issued 1,827, 4,407 and 3,166 licences for such exports to the United States of America.
