§ Mr. Hammersleyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the improved shipping position in the Mediterranean, and the release of ships recently used for the transport of Moslem pilgrims to Jedda, progress is being made with the admission to Palestine of Jewish refugees from enemy and enemy-occupied countries on the lines indicated by the Secretary of State for the Colonies?
§ Mr. EdenThe transport of the refugees for whom places are offered in Palestine is not held up by shipping difficulties which His Majesty's Government has made every possible effort to overcome. The reason why the refugees have not been moved is the withholding of exit permits by the enemy Governments concerned.
