§ Colonel StanleyFigures of actual expenditure in the Colonies are not available to any recent date, but the issues from the Exchequer to 30th June, 1943, in respect of all schemes made under the Colonial Development and Welfare Act amount to £742,924. Of this amount £357,428 was in respect of territories other than the West Indies. I would, however, remind my hon. Friend that the total estimated expenditure on schemes already approved under the Act is £4,431,169 of which £1,1910,736 has been approved for expenditure in Colonial territories other than the West Indies.
