§ Mr. Goldieasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works whether he will take steps to improve the acoustic properties of the Chamber in which this House now meets?
§ Mr. HicksI would refer to the reply given to the hon. Member for Rochdale (Dr. Morgan) on the 22nd April on this subject, of which I am sending him a copy. The acoustical defects of this Chamber were investigated most carefully and exhaustively by the National 1955W Physical Laboratory and the scheme which has been adopted is considered to be the best that can he devised as a wartime measure.
