HC Deb 26 January 1943 vol 386 c374W
Lieut.Colonel Macnamara

asked the Minister of Agriculture to what extent there is a shortage of seeds for local cultivation of any sort in the present year; and what efforts are being made to meet it?

Mr. Hudson

Adequate supplies of agricultural and vegetable seeds should be generally available for sowing this season though not in all cases in the same variety as before the war. To assist the seed trade to provide the quantitites and varieties desired, growers should place their orders immediately with their usual suppliers; this is particularly important in the case of seed corn required for spring sowing.
