HC Deb 21 January 1943 vol 386 cc310-1W
Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Labour whether any arrangement has yet been decided on to enable young men who, in response to public advertisement for air crews, left reserve occupations to complete their interrupted training and apprenticeships on discharge from the Royal Air Force?

Mr. Bevin

A number of industries have arrangements for the resumption of apprenticeship by apprentices whose training has been interrupted by service in His Majesty's Forces and who because of un-fitness or other reasons may be discharged during the war. I am in consultation with representatives of the employers' organisations and trade unions concerned in regard to the position of the apprentices referred to in the Question.
