§ Mr. Rileyasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can state the present position of the proposed changes in the constitution of the Government of Jamaica which have now been under consideration for nearly two years?
§ Colonel StanleyThe position is still as stated in the reply given to the hon. Member on 9th December last, but I have now received a memorandum signed by the fourteen elected members of the Legislative Council and by three representatives each of the People's National Party and the Federation of Citizens Associations in which other proposals for a constitution are put forward, and I am giving them consideration.
