HC Deb 04 February 1943 vol 386 c1067W
Mr. R. C. Morrison

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he is aware that salesmen in Spitalfields Market are refusing to sell apples except on condition that greens are purchased at maximum prices and on a cash basis; and whether any prosecutions have been made for this offence?

Mr. Mabane

I have had full inquiries made but have not been able to secure evidence of the type of conditional sale referred to by my hon. Friend or of other conditional sales in Spitalfields Market. If my hon. Friend has any particulars of such transactions, I should be much obliged if he could supply them to me so that appropriate action can be taken.
