HC Deb 05 August 1943 vol 391 c2472W
Mr. Keeling

asked the Minister of Health in how many areas are houses being kept empty to house persons rendered homeless by future air-raids; how many houses are being so kept empty; and in how many areas is no such provision made?

Miss Horsbrugh

In the London region there are at present about 4,800 houses reserved for the future needs of the homeless in 92 local government areas. In the rest of the country the number of houses so reserved varies from time to time and I regret that my right hon. Friend has no detailed information.
