HC Deb 15 April 1943 vol 388 cc1397-8W
Sir R. Clarry

asked the Minister of Labour whether any steps have been taken by his Department to prosecute the 41 skilled fitters in an aircraft factory who went on strike when their demand for an increase in their wage rates was refused?

Mr. Bevin

No, Sir. I am informed that on previous occasions the conduct of the men concerned was generally unsatisfactory and when they decided to stop work in support of a wages demand, the firm, with the permission of the National Service officer, dismissed them forthwith.
