HC Deb 13 April 1943 vol 388 c1071W
Mr. Hely-Hutchinson

asked the Home Secretary whether the ban on visitors is intended to include or to exclude Hastings; and, if the latter, will he make it clear that intending visitors can, under present circumstances, go to Hastings.

Mr. H. Morrison

The area subject to the visitors' ban in Kent and Sussex does not include Hastings. Hastings is, however, within a regulated area; and, as I explained in the statement which I made on 30th March, restrictions may be imposed for military purposes without warning at any place within a regulated area, and any person intending to visit a place in such an area would be well advised to ascertain beforehand from his local contacts whether any particular restrictions are in force at the time in the locality.
