HC Deb 12 April 1943 vol 388 c936W
Mr. Charles Wood

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in the case of key work, the limitation of 55 hours per week for women is always imposed or whether, under any circumstances, overtime work is permitted?

Mr. Bevin

Authority for the employment of women for more than 55 working hours a week in particular factories is granted in special cases where, after careful investigation, the circumstances appear to justify it.
