HC Deb 11 September 1942 vol 383 c547W
Mr. Murray

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he will consider the advisability of issuing either priority vouchers or easily identified buttons for use by county aldermen, county councillors, urban and rural district councillors and proved business men, who, at certain periods of the day, owing to overcrowded vehicles, are compelled to travel on public service vehicles as far as a nearby omnibus terminus in an opposite direction to that intended and then to re-board, at the terminus, the same or the next available public service vehicle to take the journey originally planned in order to fulfil their Government or other public duties?

Mr. Noel-Baker

If my hon. Friend will let me know of specific cases where the difficulties to which he refers are arising to a substantial extent, I will look into them, but I foresee great practical difficulties in discriminating between individuals as he suggests.
