HC Deb 11 September 1942 vol 383 cc546-7W
Mr. Craven-Ellis

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether consideration has been given to paying pensions by the issue of new money during periods of unemployment when this exceeds, say, 3 per cent. of the total insured population?

Sir K. Wood

If I have understood my hon. Friend's suggestion aright, the payment of pensions could not be segregated from other State liabilities in the manner he proposes.
