Mr. De la Bèreasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether, in view of the 326W number of letters received by the hon. Member for Evesham regarding the failure of the Petroleum Department, 31, Cal-thorpe Road, Birmingham 13, to answer letters which have been addressed to them in connection with petrol allowance, he will take steps to ensure that this matter is put right?
Mr. LloydI regret the delay which has occurred in the Birmingham Petroleum Office and which was due to great pressure of work, illness and shortage of staff. Steps have now been taken which should improve the position, and I hope these difficulties will not recur.
