§ Mr. Noel-BakerAs I said in reply to my hon. Friend the Member for London University (Sir E. Graham-Little) on 14th October, the withdrawal of cheap day tickets was a necessary measure which my Noble Friend adopted with great regret. He is, however, convinced that to make these special concessions urged by my hon. Friend would lead to similar demands by others with equal claims to consideration, and would thus defeat the purpose which he has in view.
