HC Deb 20 October 1942 vol 383 c1855W
Mr. Pritt

asked the Minister of Labour the number of cases of industrial dermatitis notified to his Ministry during this year as compared with last year; and whether any special measures have been taken to inform workers of preventive measures, and of the use of products for the protection of the skin, in order to reduce the danger of this disease?

Mr. Bevin

The numbers in 1941 and 1940 were 7,291 and 4,744, respectively. A total for this year is not available. Posters, of which I am sending my hon. Friend two specimens, are widely exhibited in factories where there is a special dermatitis risk, and preventive measures are also promoted through medical and welfare supervision, supervision of washing arrangements, and in other ways.
