HC Deb 15 October 1942 vol 383 cc1781-2W
Mr. Dugdale

asked the Minister of Agriculture how many horses are being kept for the purpose of fox-hunting; and how much feeding stuffs it is estimated that they consume each month?

Mr. Hudson

Rations are now allowed for 314 horses in hunt establishments. The quantity of feeding stuffs involved is 47 tons per month during the hunting season. I have no particulars of the numbers of other horses kept solely for fox-hurting, for which no rations are allowed under the feeding stuffs rationing scheme.
