The number of deaths from diphtheria registered in the administrative county of London in the years 1939, 1940 and 1941 were as follow:—

1939 51 47
1940 29 38
1941 39 43

According to provisional returns, 29 such deaths were registered in the first nine months of 1942 but for this period separate figures for the sexes are not yet available.
