Dr. Morganasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that some building societies, especially small ones, are compelling mortgagors to insure mortgaged premises only with certain insurance companies, in spite of the absence of any such stipulation in the mortgage; what steps the Registrar of Friendly Societies has taken to check this practice; and whether he will have inquiries made with a view to further action?
