HC Deb 01 October 1942 vol 383 cc941-2W
Mr. Henderson Stewart

asked the Minister of Production what is the cause of the delay in providing permanent offices for regional production boards and making their functions and whereabouts known to industry; whether he is satisfied that the regional controller in each case is vested with sufficient power and authority to avoid inter-departmental strife; and what progress has been made by the boards since their establishment?

Mr. Garro Jones

Arrangements have been made in all but two cases for adequate accommodation for the regional board offices. The work of making the boards and their functions known is proceeding. My right hon. Friend considers that the present organisation provides effective means for settling inter-departmental issues and that in general the regional boards are making steady progress.
