§ Mr. E. Walkdenasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that Harry Woodford Mellor, of Whitfield Bank Farm, Glossop, Derbyshire, who chose the alternative of 10 months imprisonment to paying a fine of £13,000 when convicted at Bow Street, London, on 12th November 1942, for failing to offer 35,821 United States dollars for sale to the Treasury, bought a farm after war broke out; and whether he is satisfied this man is a bona fide farmer or whether steps will be taken to annul his occupational reservation under the Armed Forces and National Service Acts?
