asked the Secretary of State for India the numbers of Indians and Europeans, respectively, employed in the All-India services in 1890, 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930 and 1940?

The earliest return giving the racial composition of the All-India Services is that for the year 1922. The figures for the years 1922, 1930 and 1940 are as follow: —
