HC Deb 10 November 1942 vol 383 c2277W
Captain Anstruther-Gray

asked the Minister of Labour whether young policemen are to be included in the new combing-out for the fighting forces of young men in reserved occupations?

Mr. Tomlinson

The age of reservation for regular policemen was raised on the 1st June last from 18 to 25. Since that date all policemen who were under 25 at the date of their registration (that is, who were born after the 9th March, 1915), except some whose calling-up has been deferred for special reasons, have been available for posting to the Armed Forces.
