HC Deb 10 March 1942 vol 378 c940W
Mr. Groves

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will consider consultation with representatives of small trading shopkeepers who, at present, are being ousted out of business, to ensure their livelihood and the proper distribution of commodities?

Mr. Dalton

The Retail Trade Committee are at present consulting with the principal organisations representing all sections of the retail trade about the best way of dealing with the difficulties now confronting shopkeepers. Representatives of small shopkeepers have, therefore, the opportunity to discuss with the committee their most urgent problems, including the matters to which my hon. Friend refers.
