HC Deb 30 June 1942 vol 381 cc45-6W
Sir W. Everard

asked the Minister of Health whether he will consider sanctioning the release of the Coalville baths, at present used for casualty services, in view of the fact that there is alternative accommodation available in the town for these services and that these baths, built by the Miners' Fund, are the only facilities for bathing in the neighbourhood?

Mr. E. Brown

I am informed that the Regional Commissioner in consultation with the scheme-making authority has agreed to the release of these baths which are being used in connection with Civil Defence services falling within the province of the Minister of Home Security and myself. Temporary alternative accommodation is being actively sought and the baths will be released as soon as this is available.
