HC Deb 24 June 1942 vol 380 cc1996-7W
Mr. Graham White

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether his attention has been drawn to difficulties in the distribution of tomatoes in Liverpool and Merseyside; and whether he will take steps to make better arrangements for the future?

Mr. Mabane

Yes, Sir. The difficulties in question were largely those of supply. The arrangements which have been made will ensure equitable distribution as far as possible throughout the country. Local shortages due to weather conditions are, however, sometimes unavoidable.
