§ Mr. Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland the number of education authorities in Scotland; the number of such authorities who have in any way and at any time since August, 1939, penalised teachers holding, or suspected of holding, pacifist views, or being conscientious objectors under the terms of the Military Training and Military Service Acts; how many of such teachers were, respectively, men, women, headmasters or headmistresses; and for how many children they were responsible when they were penalised?
Mr. JohnstonThe number of education authorities in Scotland is 35. I am not aware of any case in which, since August, 1939, a teacher has been penalised by one of these authorities for holding pacifist views or for being a conscientious objector.
