§ Mr. Daggarasked the President of the Board of Trade whether the clothes rationing survey, now being made by the British Market Research Bureau, Limited, of Universal House, Buckingham Palace Road, London, S.W.I, has the authority of his Department; by whom were the three directors of the concern appointed and are they all over military age; what is the total number of staff employed, the directors' remuneration and the wages and salaries aggregate of the staff as a whole?
§ Mr. DaltonYes, Sir; the British Market Research Bureau have been carrying out clothing surveys on behalf of my Department since August, 1941. Such research is essential to the smooth running of the rationing scheme, since the demands of the public are constantly changing and production must be adjusted to take account of such changes. As regards the second and third parts of the Question, it is not customary to give information of this kind regarding firms working for the Government.
