asked the Home Secretary, with reference to Article 12 (5A) of the Aliens Order, 1920, in how many of the cases submitted to the Lindley Committee action has been taken contrary to the recommendations of that Committee?

§ Mr. H. Morrison
In 15 of the 394 cases in which recommendations from the Committee have been received the action decided upon was not in accordance with the Committee's recommendation. In 11 of these 15 cases the Committee recommended release and in 4 cases continued detention.
