§ Mr. PeakeThe illicit manufacture of liquor is a matter for the Board of Customs and Excise, and I understand that there has been a recent prosecution for this offence and that the person concerned has been convicted. I am informed by the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that the police have no direct evidence of the sale of illicit spirits in night clubs in London, but a close watch is being kept on the situation.
